How do you realise the largest sports crowdfunding project in the history of Switzerland? You give your campaign an emotional story and activate supporters across all clubs. The entire planning lasted about five months and a story was written that communicated one clear message: Build the new stadium called “Kleinfeld” with the club and become a stadium builder. Besides the story, one major success factor was what people got in return for their investment. Funders received an original SC Kriens shirt with the inscription “Stadionbauer/in”—stadium builder. The communication took place mainly online using social media. But with offline communication, targeted multipliers were addressed: the appealing design of a public transportation bus in Lucerne, a press conference, newspaper interviews and much more. The stadium builders can be proud of their new stadium. It was a huge success thanks to the creation of a strong community.
